Throughout life, a person encounters a simple yet unsettling question: what lies behind the door?
This metaphor is a universal symbol of anticipation and encounter, fear and hope, the desire for connection and the fear of rejection. A door is not only a physical boundary between spaces but also a psychological threshold between the inner and the outer, the personal and the foreign, the known and the mysterious.
A knock, a doorbell, a rustle behind the wall — gestures that awaken imagination. We conjure images, form assumptions, and hear our own warnings. Sometimes joy awaits behind the door, sometimes emptiness, and sometimes only a reflection of ourselves.
